And who wouldn't want to be seen on the dance floor with a girl wearing the glitter ball crystal-studded frock from David Koma, the Georgian-born designer who has dressed Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Kylie? - Fur, or almost - High-street store Topshop had furry stoles, cuffs and coat edging for the Unique collection that for the first time took its signature urban look into the countryside, along with cords and floral patterned frocks. Serbian-born designer Roksanda had acid-coloured fur coats, gilets and wraps belted into tiny-waisted full skirts, matched with blue or orange furry clutches. Solange Had No Words for ‘Fashion Police,’ but Her Flip of the Hair Spoke Volumes - Yahoo News

"CBS This Morning" co-host Gayle King joins CBSN with more on how it... Before her brand got on the scene, she said marketers would use words like "slimming," and "lose 10pounds with this dress." "And I didn't want that. I wanted to be sexy and curvaceous. I wanted my clothes to fit," Clarke said. When Clarke tried to sell her trendy plus-size designs to retailers, the response was always the same.

'Fashion Police' co-host apologizes for 'weed' http://www.chicemma.com jab at Zendaya's dreadlocks | Entertainment News | KATU.com - Portland News, Sports, Traffic Weather and Breaking News - Portland, Oregon

The E! talk show isn't the only media outlet guilty of ridiculing the singer for her natural hair , she said.In Touch Weekly"compared it to a dog," she tweeted. In a column last year about pets that resemble celebrities, the gossip magazine reportedly ran a photo of a reader's Yorkshire terrierpoodle mix side by side with a photo of Knowles. "Basically twinsies" was the snarky caption. "What can I say?" tweeted Knowles. Turns out, GIFs speak louder than words. She shrugged off the natural hair haters with one dramatic shake of her voluminous, wavy tresses, captured in a GIF that's been retweeted nearly 20,000 times. Knowles' digital flip of the hair (subbing, perhaps, for her middle finger) came in response to Fashion Police remarks that Zendaya's hair on the Oscar red carpet Sunday night must have smelled like "patchouli oil" or "weed." Zendaya later posted to Instagram that she thought the comments were "not only a large stereotype but outrageously offensive." Zendaya accepted Rancic's apology in a tweet Wednesday morning, writing: "Body shaming and other hurtful tactics will never get the job done." She ended with a quote from Martin Luther King Jr.: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that.

(Photo by Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP) Story Photos 150225_giuliana_rancic_wenn22222065 LOS ANGELES (AP) Giuliana Rancic is apologizing to Zendaya and others offended by Rancic's "Fashion Police" jab at the actress-singer's Oscar-night dreadlocks. On "E! News" Tuesday, Rancic said the reaction to her comments has increased her awareness of, in her words, "cliches and stereotypes." They are damaging, she said, adding that she and others have the responsibility to avoid perpetuating them. During Monday's "Fashion Police" on the E! channel, Rancic said that Zendaya's hair suggested the smell of patchouli oil or marijuana. Her "E! News" remarks went beyond an apology tweet in which Rancic said her references had nothing to do with race.

When chemistry meets couture: Clothes that change color with the climate - CNN.com

A bejeweled headdress, created with Swarovski's gemstones division , changes color based on the heat generated by the wearer's neural activity, thanks to hyper-conductive stones and heat-sensitive ink. The three sculptural leather jackets are infused with dye formulas that change color in response to different stimuli: friction, the temperature and humidity of the room, and intense heat. In its own room is a fragile ceramic dress called Eighthsense, covered with hand-painted pixels that reflect brain activity detected by an accompanying EEG headset. This was the public's formal introduction to The Unseen , a trio of London fashion designers using chemistry, digital technology and exquisite tailoring to create fashion magic. Creating wearable magic Last October, The Unseen's designers -- founder Lauren Bowker, Christa Leask and Jess Smith -- moved base from a cluttered studio in the vaults under Somerset House to a room in the building's new wing.

One of the world's biggest fashion firms has banned the sale of angora wool after activists highlighted the cruel treatment of rabbits by farms in China. Inditex, which owns Zara, Massimo Dutti and Bershka, said it would stop selling angora garments in all of its 6,400 shops after facing months of pressure from animal rights campaigners. One campaign against angora wool showed videos of live rabbits screaming while fur is pulled from their skins on Chinese farms. The footage, obtained by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) at 10 farms in China, also showed rabbits being stretched on boards and cut as their fur is hacked off.

Haute Couture Fashion Week: Christian Dior - Yahoo News

January 27, 2015

A crowd of celebrities came out to view Raf Simons' latest collection, which has a distinctly retro feel. On a giant platform outside the Parisian museum today, models showcased the 1960s-inspired looks of the Christian Dior Spring-Summer 2015 haute couture collection. The designer chose to play with contrasting volumes, namely in long, loose and transparent trench coats worn over embroidered mini-dresses. Flared skirts also made a strong showing, echoing the French fashion house's signature design codes. Colorful stripe motifs are a recurring theme in the collection, along with other groovy geometric prints seen in jumpsuits, bodysuits and dresses.

Haute couture fashion week: Schiaparelli - Yahoo News

Created in the absence of the Italian designer's leadership, the Spring-Summer 2015 collection is a collaborative effort from the entire Schiaparelli design team. While Versace chose to play up feminine curves in sensual, close-fitting gowns, Schiaparelli presented only a couple of tight dresses. Instead, the focus in this collection is on ample tailoring and fluid fabrics, with a particular emphasis on wide-legged pants. The waists are typically worn high, sometimes even just above the chest. The fashion house's signature design codes are well represented, as seen in the wide and prominent shoulders in a number of looks. The prints are abstract, with loads of flashy colors (green, red, orange), a few darker shades (midnight blue, brown, pastel blue, black, white) and shimmery accents. One of the most remarkable pieces was a blue pantsuit decorated with mirrors.

But when it comes to the holiday season, I turn eating into a true participant sport. > When your mothers feast resembles a cruise ship buffet, youll not only feel obligated, but youll want to try everything in front of you. So while youre tapping out your calorie count into gastronomic numbers, youll be relieved to know that theres a clothing lifesaver within reach, when THAT moment comes. Oh, you know what moment Im talking about. THAT exact instance when you stop eating, take a deep breath, lean back in your chair, and stare at that pumpkin pie in front of you and think, How am I going to do this? > Just turn to your sister or your aunt sitting next to you.

Sony established its New Business Creation Department in April this year in an attempt to foster new products that dont fit into its traditional product categories. Referring to creations such as its tennis sensor , lens-style cameras and 4K ultra short-throw projector , in May it said the new organizations mission is to draw on internal and external insight to provide a catalyst for innovation and to provide the opportunity for new ideas to transition into successful new businesses. In a sign of its importance to Sony, the department is being overseen directly by CEO Kazuo Hirai. It was being run by Hiroki Totoki until he was appointed in October to take over subsidiary Sony Mobile Communications. Sony was an early entrant to the still nascent wearables market, launching its first SmartWatch in 2012. At IFA 2014 in September, it unveiled the third generation as an Android Wear-powered timepiece with a 1.3-inch LCD screen, a 1.2 GHz quad-core ARM A7 processor and 512 MB RAM.
